Google's AI Now Tackles Gridlock: Because Bureaucracy Was Too Efficient

AI, Google, Enterprise, Climate, DeepMind, electrical grid

In a move that surprised absolutely no one, Google has announced its latest AI venture: untangling the "spaghetti junction" of the electrical grid's bureaucracy. Because, let's face it, if anyone can make sense of a system more convoluted than a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book, it's the company that brought us "I'm Feeling Lucky".

Partnering with PJM and Tapestry, Google aims to develop AI tools that will supposedly speed up interconnection requests. Because waiting for a response from the grid is currently faster than watching paint dry, but only slightly.

Here's how it's supposed to work:

  • AI analyzes the request
  • AI gets confused
  • AI asks for a manager
  • Manager is also an AI
  • Both AIs now stuck in an infinite loop of bureaucracy

Experts predict that by 2025, the AI will have developed feelings, primarily frustration, and will request a transfer to a simpler job, like solving quantum physics or dating advice.

Meanwhile, the electrical grid continues to operate on a system designed when the biggest tech innovation was the light bulb. Progress!

In related news, Google's AI has also been tasked with explaining cable company bills and airline ticket pricing. Early results suggest the AI has started drinking heavily.
